For a large family staying together, the King Apartment at Queen of Zlatibor is one of our favourite finds. Instead of booking several separate hotel rooms, you get an entire 150 m² apartment with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious living room with an additional pull-out sofa — so everyone can stay under one roof without feeling crowded.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining table for those little family moments that are difficult to have when everyone is split between hotel rooms. Two bathrooms make mornings with children considerably easier, while the private lift takes you directly to the apartment — particularly convenient when you're arriving with kids, luggage and everything a big family somehow manages to bring along.

And you don't have to sacrifice the comforts of a hotel for all that space: breakfast and Spa & Wellness access are included among the apartment amenities. Wake up, have breakfast together, and you're ready to start your Zlatibor day.

Have breakfast at the hotel, then stop by Pekara Zlatibor before leaving town.

Pick up a few pastries and drinks for later — you'll be glad you did once you're up in the mountains.

Head to the Gold Gondola as early as possible.

The ride towards Tornik is one of those Zlatibor experiences that works equally well for adults and children: instead of rushing between attractions, you get time to simply sit together and watch the landscape change beneath you.

Zlatibor Stories tip: in summer, go early. You'll avoid the strongest midday sun and usually have a much more pleasant experience.

After Tornik, drive to Krčma Gaj.

This is the kind of lunch stop we love on Zlatibor: traditional food, fresh mountain air and a beautiful view over the rolling green hills.

Don't rush.

The next stop is deliberately chosen for the hottest part of the day.

When the afternoon gets hot, head underground.

Stopić Cave is one of the best natural escapes around Zlatibor — and the dramatic entrance, underground river and famous limestone formations make it exciting for children too.

Bring an extra layer even in summer: the temperature inside is around 15°C.

Current opening hours are Monday–Saturday 09:30–18:00 and Sunday 09:30–16:30, but check them again before setting off.

Back on Zlatibor, make one final stop with the children at Ranč Zova.

It's an easy way to slow the pace down after a day of sightseeing and let the kids spend some time around animals before dinner.

Finish the day at Central Inn Zlatibor.

Order burgers, tacos, drinks, sit down together and talk about everyone's favourite part of the day.

For a large family, we'd recommend reserving a table in advance, especially during summer weekends.

go home, put the children to bed and enjoy the cool Zlatibor evening.
